Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:23-25
We know that all glory and honour belong to our Lord. Often people try to grab God’s glory and honour for themselves. Or giving glory and honour to others instead of giving it to the God who rules over Nations. If we must glow with God’s glory we must learn how to always give Him all the glory that is due Him.
The Lord is serious about His glory. The scripture says I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. Isaiah 42:8. The Lord tells us that He will not give His glory to anyone else, even though man does.
We have access to God’s glory whenever we read the Bible; When we study God’s word, His glory brightly shines into our hearts so that we may know Him better. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.
The scripture told us how Peter, James, and John climbed the Mount with Jesus and saw the glory of Jesus as He was speaking with Moses and Elijah (Mark 9:2-9). You and I have it much easier today. We come to church and see God’s glory in His word. We pray anywhere and see God’s glory. We do not have to climb any mountains to be with Jesus. God’s grace has given us that access to know and be clothed by God’s glory. It starts in our hearts and shines forth through us to our nations or communities.
What Nations truly need are those things that are eternal and soul-filling. You and I and every believer are the ones who will declare the Lord’s glory in nations, especially with those only looking at man’s glory. “Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever” Daniel 12:3. Glow with God’s glory by acting this scripture in your walk with God!
One of the keys to declaring and glowing in God’s glory is to remember that it is not our glory. The scripture says, “All glory belongs to our Lord” Ephesians 3:21. However, in our lives, we do not always give all glory to our Lord. At times we often fail miserably. All around us are those who desperately try to grab all the glory for themselves. We must seize every opportunity to declare the glory of our Lord.
Sharing or declaring the glory of the Lord remains the most important aspect of glowing in God’s glory. I would like to dwell on how you can share or declare the glory of the Lord through adoration to God!
ADORATION TO GOD!

I see Adoration and awesome as words that complement each other! We find awesome in what we adore and what we adore is often awesome to us.
What is awesome about God? Everything is awesome about God! His holiness, His love, His justice, His compassion, His patience… all of these things remind us that we serve an awesome God.
We spend a great deal of time asking God for things, legitimate and important things to be precise but less time in prayer thanking God for who He is. God wants to hear our prayers of adoration or praise regularly. One reason comes to mind. Adoration of who God is assures us of what God does and that it’s life-changing through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
When we adore God in our prayer life, we begin then to align our will with His will because we focus our praise and our adoration on Him and not us. Our prayer is to God not to ourselves and it is the Lord who is worthy of all praise.
When you praise someone you commend them or tell them what it is, you appreciate about them. You pay them a compliment. A compliment is getting away from the noise of our daily lives and meditating on God’s majestic splendour and wonderful miracles. Meditating on who God is and how mighty He is in all the earth from generation to generation.
Our mission of partnering with the Lord to help others come to Christ and be changed through a personal salvation experience must include praise to God for who He is. From His character comes His action of salvation and reconciliation.
God cannot and does not tolerate sin either in our actions or our thoughts and attitudes and as we read in John 3:17 Jesus indicates God’s intention for humanity, ‘God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.’
Have you found yourself complimenting the Lord, praising Him for these things? Are you more grateful to Him for His majestic splendour, is beyond discovery greatness, and His mercy? Such adoration, such complimenting, such praise is a vital part of our prayer life and helps us to glow in His glory.
This is where King Nebuchadnezzar in the scripture got it wrong from giving God the glory to taking the glory! He said, how great is our God, how mighty are his wonders, his kingdom is everlasting Daniel 4:3. He started giving God the glory, talking about His power, and God continued to increase him. But somewhere along the way he started taking the glory, he forgot it was God who was giving him the power to succeed.
In verse 30 he looked out over the city and said, “Is this not the great Babylon that I have built by my might and by my power, for the honour of my glory and my majesty”. Listen to all the-my’s; my might, my power, my glory, my majesty. The problem is, we weren’t created to keep glory, we were created to give glory to God. He will show you His favour, as long as you let that glory flow through you and back to Him. But the moment you start keeping the glory, that’s when the favour is going to stop.
As Nebuchadnezzar was up there bragging to everybody about how great he was, verse 31 says, “While he was still speaking, a voice came down from heaven and said, Nebuchadnezzar this day you have lost the kingdom”. If you are going to keep it, He will step away but when you are constantly bragging about God’s goodness, thanking Him for what He has done, and giving Him the honour, you are going to continue to rise higher.
The scripture says, “God opposes the proud, but gives favour to the humble” James 4:6. When you humble yourself and say, “God, I know, it was your goodness that got me to where I am, it was your mercy that brought me out of these mistakes, it was your power that kept these enemies from defeating me, it was your favour that opened these doors. God, I recognize your goodness”. When you give God the credit, He will take you places and height that you have never dreamed of.
What’s interesting is after King Nebuchadnezzar lost the kingdom because he thought he had done it all in his strength, he changed his mind and decided to recognize God as the one who had given him the favour, promoting him, and he humbled himself.
Here’s how amazing God is, He is so merciful, He put Nebuchadnezzar back in power. Verse 37 says, “Now, I Nebuchadnezzar, give praise and honour to the King of heaven”. A few verses earlier he was saying: my glory, my honor. Now he was saying: I praised the King of heaven. Instead of taking the glory, he started giving God the glory. When he did, God gave him another chance.
I wonder if there are areas in your life, you think you have done it in your strength and it’s limiting how high you can go or how glowing you should be in His glory. If you start recognizing God’s favour, thanking Him for what He has done, and giving Him the honour, then God will open new doors and take you further.
He won’t share His glory but when you are quick to give Him the glory, there’s no limit to how high you will go or how glowing you can become in His glory. I’m asking you to recognize God’s goodness in your life. Remember how He helped you through that opposition, how the right people crossed your part, it wasn’t luck, that was the Lord your God, He has been working in your life even generations back.
Why don’t you get up every morning and say, “Lord, thank you for your goodness and give Him glory for your life”? As you continue to do this, I believe and declare, that you are about to see supernatural favour: influence, opportunities, increase, abundance, divine health, creativity, and income that you have never seen. God is going to give you back what you lost, your latter days will be better than your former days, in Jesus’ name.
