CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY!

 

All friends of Jesus are friends of Christian missionaries. There is no healthy spiritual life without love for missionary work. When you analyze the reasons for this, you will receive inspiration into the glory of Christian missions and grasp this cause as part of your existence. 

 

A Christian missionary is a person who propagates the Christian faith! They can be sent as individuals or as a group across boundaries, most commonly geographical boundaries, to carry out evangelism or other activities, such as educational, charity or hospitality! 

 

Our understanding of the Christian mission can create the right passion!  As most of us may be aware, the life of Jesus is the best example we can learn from and He is the model of any life of a missionary!

 

Mission work is the reason Jesus set His glory aside and left the throne of heaven. His inheritance is among the unbelievers which is given to Him by God the Father. 

 

The power of the devil was solidified among the unbelievers and the world at large but now, Jesus has exonerated the Christians as Conquerors. His glory, the coming and manifestation of His Kingdom, depend on our redemption!

 

Missionary work is the major aim of the Church on Earth. As a member of the body of Christ, we must give ourselves to the work of Christian missions so that this goal of Christ may be achieved through us.

 

Christian mission is one of the main reasons the Holy Spirit was given to us.  “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. Acts 13:2-3

 

As you study through the scriptures you will discover that times of revival go hand in hand with a new zeal for missionary cause. The Holy Spirit is always the inspiration for the extension of God’s Kingdom on earth.

 

Missionary work brings blessings to the Church. It ensures heroic deeds of faith and self-denial. It has provided the most glorious instances of the wondrous power of the Lord. It gives heavenly joy over the conversion of sinners to those who watch for it with love and prayer. It cleanses the heart to understand God’s great plans and to await the fulfilment of them in supplication. 

 

Missionaries are a blessing to the world! Imagine how it would have been if missionaries had not come to our forefathers in Africa who were idol worshipers or in other parts of the world where unbelievers were. The missionary work of old has produced the amazing blessing we see around the world today and God is still using people to do amazing things in our days!

 

Through missionaries, millions of unbelievers have been rescued from hell and the power of the enemy. Communities, villages, cities and nations have been won for Christ through the Christian mission.

 

Love for missionary work brings blessing to the soul. You will have the opportunity to exercise your faith. Missionary work is a cause for faith, where everything most times goes on slowly, and not according to how you may have projected. You have no choice than learning how to stick to God and His Word.

 

Your Love will be awakened. You will learn to break out from self boundaries with an open eye and a large heart to live in God’s interest and bless the people. It will help you discover how little your true love is and cause you to receive more of that love.

 

Grace for prayer will erupt within you and your calling and power as an intercessor will become clearer to you! You will receive the joy of God blessing lives through you and working for the expansion of His Kingdom on earth. 

 

You will find out that the highest harmony with Him, who came to seek the lost, is to surrender your comfort by persistent in prayer on behalf of unbelievers against the works of the devil in their lives.

 

Finally, giving for Christian missions is one of the areas we must dedicate our resources to! Not only when you are asked or merely give what may not cost you but prayerfully set apart a portion of what you possess or earn for this cause. Let the Lord see that you are committed to His work…
