ENFORCE THE RIGHT NAME!

And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John. And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called. And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, blessing God. Luke 1:60-64

It’s easy to go through life letting people put names on us, names like average, unqualified, poor, and not good enough Sometimes we also believe wrongly about ourselves; not talented, not good enough, unattractive. As long as we hold on to these names, and believe in the lies that people and circumstances have put on us, it’s going to keep us from enjoying the best in God.

You have to enforce your right name. I’m not completely talking about your name at birth, I’m talking about the wrong names you have allowed your mind to identify you with. Who do you believe you are? How do you see yourself? When God breathed life into you, He named you blessed, prosperous, talented, fruitful, one-of-a-kind. He calls you a masterpiece.

People will call you average, ordinary, nothing special. If you accept those names you will be average, ordinary, nothing special. What’s holding many people back is because of the wrong name they have or the one they have accepted in their minds. You have to enforce your right name in God’s word by saying Not so; I am not average because I have an excellent spirit.

In the time of old, the names they gave people were taken more seriously than today. Those names could determine the person’s destiny. Even God had to change the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah before they became recipients of His promise (Genesis 17). The good news is that whatever God name you overrides what people name you but you still have to enforce it.

They may name you bad luck, laziness, or defeat but God name you favour, smart, victory and a blessing. Don’t let the negative things people have spoken about you, how you were raised or what you didn’t get determine your destiny.

Maybe someone has tried to name you average, unqualified, unattractive, and too many mistakes. Enforce your right name by saying “Not so”; I’m a son of excellence or a daughter of excellence and I am a child of greatness. You must do your part and reject the negative names by enforcing your right name.

You can search the scripture and write out all the names that God calls you; memorise them and place some of the write-up in your bedroom so you see who you are in God’s word every morning when you wake up and enforce them by voicing the names out.
When you enforce your right name to who you were created to be, all the forces of darkness cannot stop you.

With a continuous consciousness of being equipped and empowered, talented and creative, surrounded by God’s favour, with royal blood flowing through your veins, doors will open that no man can shut, and the right people will suddenly show up, you will overcome obstacles that look too big. It’s important to note that enforcing the right name takes you further than you could ever imagined.

What people have spoken over you or what they haven’t spoken over you hasn’t changed what’s in you; it’s just in your mind influencing what you do! What is in you is the name God calls you so go back to who God calls you in Christ Jesus and enforce or activate the names. You are not what people call you, not what your mistakes and your past calls you either.

God calls you exceptional, He calls you redeemed and forgiven, He calls you healthy and whole, He calls you a masterpiece, a history maker. Now do your part and let what He names you override all the other names as you enforce it by keeping it in your heart and declaring it with your mouth.

Maybe Life has put some names on you, told you what you can’t do, what you are not, and how you have made too many mistakes. God have you reading this message because He wants you to enforce your right name in Christ.

No more an average life, there is greatness in you. When God created you, He put a part of Himself in you, He has equipped you, empowered you and anointed you. He crowned you with His favour. Your new names are blessed, prosperous, well-able, forgiving, talented, one-of-a-kind, a masterpiece.

IT’S NOT HOW YOU FEEL!

You may not feel blessed or be tempted to talk about what you don’t have, and how it’s not going to improve, allow the word of God to prevail in your mind! God is empowering you to enforce your name from lack, from struggle, from not having enough to blessed, prosperous, and more than enough.

What you are up against may look permanent, but God is empowering you to enforce your right name. You might have had that addiction for years, but God is calling you free. You haven’t been able to have a baby, God is calling your womb blessed, He is calling you a mother. Your dream seems too big, you don’t have the experience, or the training, God is calling you successful, He’s calling you bountiful, flourishing, and abundant.

Now, the whole key is to make an effort to enforce your right name and keep calling yourself what God calls you, even when it doesn’t make sense. Every time you do it, you are getting stronger on the inside, and eventually, you are going to manifest what God named you.

In the book of Luke chapter 1, an angel appeared to Zechariah and told him that his wife Elizabeth was going to have a baby and that they were to name John. Well,  Elizabeth was very old. Zechariah questioned the angel and asked; how it was going to happen.

The angel told him that what God promised, would come to pass, but because Zechariah doubted, he would remain silent until the baby was born. From that moment on he couldn’t speak. Nine months later, Elizabeth gave birth to a baby boy. The family and the relatives were so excited, they came over to the house to celebrate. Verse 59 says, “They wanted to name the child Zechariah after his father”!

God said his name was John, but they wanted to name him something different. We all have some people like this who will try to name you something that you are not. Don’t let them name you, enforce your God-given name in Christ Jesus.

Elizabeth said to them, “Not so, his name will not be Zechariah, his name will be John”. They said, what do you mean? Nobody in your family is named John, that doesn’t make sense.

They went to Zechariah, the father, to ask him what the baby’s name would be. He still couldn’t speak, so he wrote on a tablet, his name is John. Suddenly he was able to speak again. But what’s interesting here is that the mother couldn’t name the baby, women in those days didn’t have the influence that they have today. The family, the friends, the neighbours, they couldn’t name the child. The only one that had the authority to name the baby was the father. They had to go find Zechariah to see what the child’s name would be.

Your original name is from our Heavenly Father; He is the only one, that has the right to name you. Don’t go through life letting other people put any name on you. They will try to name you as addicted, problematic, struggling, or defeated. God name you free, whole, victorious. God name you a masterpiece, one-of-a-kind, exceptional.

People will always try to name you a name that God never called you, maybe because of your mistakes, challenges or environment but don’t give up declaring the name that God calls you; forgiven, redeemed, and restored. It can never be too much calling yourself what God calls you uncountable times in a day because it’s a way of knocking off the wrong names from your mind.

My question is, have you let “someone” name you? Have you let life convince you who you are? Who you are is in God’s word and it’s amazing! Refuse to allow those negative thoughts to tell you that there is nothing extraordinary about your future.  Your future is amazing and your names are blessed, prosperous, one-of-a-kind, valuable, and a child of the almighty God.

Now, do your part and enforce the right name that God calls you. Tune out all the negative names, keep the right names in your mind and don’t stop voicing them out, suddenly you will see yourself doing things in that direction of who God calls you.

 Prayer

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”’ Numbers 6:24-26
