Oh Lord, I WORSHIP YOU.

You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honour and power; For You created all things, And by Your will, they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:12

One of the Hebrew words for “worship”  is “Shachah,” which means “bow down” or “surrender.” Every time it is used, it means “to worship, bow down, fall flat, stoop or do obeisance to another.”

When Abraham used this word, he was saying that he is going to the top of Mount Moriah with Isaac to “bow down in worship” before the Almighty God. “And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” Genesis 22:5

“Worship” in English words is made up of two words. One is “worth” and the other word is “ship.” Worth means value. Ship as an English word can mean to “transport or give up something”

Worship speaks of the “worth” of a person or anything. While “ship” speaks of transporting or giving up something. In worship, you give or transport the value in your heart to the one worshipped who is worthy to receive the value from you.

Take this same thought and apply it to the worship of anything. Whatever you value most, you will be willing to “bow down.” or worship. You will give your heart to what you value most and may have no reason not to worship that thing, person or God.

True worship requires an expectation that God is truly God and that He blesses those who seek Him. Your spirit, soul and body belong to the Lord. He made you for His worship

We are made to worship God Almighty, the creator of heaven and the earth. Worship is telling God that truly He is worthy of all our Thanksgiving, praise and adoration forever and ever

Many have tasted and seen the goodness of the Lord with a lot of testimony to show for it. The depth of His mercy is felt by the nations of the earth. He expressed His love in Christ Jesus and that love still surrounds us today. Oh Lord, I worship you.

What else can we give to the Lord apart from our worship? The Bible says He inhabits the praises of His people… “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3 It’s so special to know that you can give something back to God that He cherished, which is your praise and worship!

When you worship God, you are valuing Him above everything else in your heart which flows through your words and actions. It’s literally “worth-ship”. So when you sing praises to God, you are worshipping; saying that He has the greatest worth; that His value is above anything you may ever think of.

The glory of His holiness outshines the billions of stars in the universe. Nothing in heaven and on earth can be compared to Him. He is above all, He is greater than all. Everything in creation is insignificant next to the sovereign Lord of the universe.

Worshipping God is actively desiring and seeking after God. The pursuit and commitment to God must supersede every other goal of your life. “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ “Mathew 22:37 Giving everything about you to God in worship because you placed a very high value on Him.

Worshipping God feeds and saturates our minds with the truth about Him. It’s a divine offering that pleases God. An adoration toward God for who He is, His character, His faithfulness, His omnipotent, omniscience, omnipresence.

Let’s worship Him forever because He is the reason for our living. He is the strength that holds you together. The Lord is worthy of our worship (Amen)
