Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24
We all have goals, visions, dreams and promises that are moving us on! When we see God’s favour, open doors, good health and having the right people crossing our parts, it’s easy to be convinced that God is at work. However, if there is no evidence of God’s favour, open door, good health or good people crossing our parts even when we are doing our best, praying, and believing, it’s easy to feel as if God is far from us.
If you have the evidence, it’s easy to stay encouraged but to reach your destiny there will be times when there is no evidence. Every circumstance says, “You will never get well. You will never meet the right person. You will never accomplish that dream. You are no better off now than you were a year ago”. Refuse those thoughts and take possession of your heart’s desire even when there is no evidence to show for it. Let it become yours by faith before your eyes see it. Claim it and take hold of it.
The scripture says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 If you can see it, then you no longer need any faith. In John 20:29 Jesus says “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
You haven’t seen what God promised you in His word but you keep believing, because of this act of yours, God says you are blessed. If you want to soak yourself in God’s special blessing, believe in His promises even when there is no evidence that it will happen… Owning it without evidence has qualified you for God’s favour, healing, joy, long life, good health and victory from every side.
Don’t tell God Let me see a piece of evidence that my circumstances are improving, then I will stay in faith or Open this door, then I will know you’re working”. God is looking for people who will trust Him by His word and own His promises without evidence. Those who are not moved by what they see, and who don’t need any evidence to prove that God is working.
In the book of 2 Kings chapter 20, King Hezekiah became very sick. He was close to death when the prophet Isaiah showed up at his palace. He said, “King Hezekiah, “you will surely die’.”
Hezekiah could have been depressed, defeated, or given up on life but he began to pray. He reminded God of all the good he had done, how he had torn down the pagan shrines and removed all the idols. He poured his heart out and asked God to spare His life.
Before Isaiah left the palace grounds, God told Isaiah to go back and give him a new report. He said, “Tell Hezekiah this: the Lord says He has heard your prayers, and He is going to heal you. In three days you will get out of this bed, and He will add 15 more years to your life”.
Now you can imagine how excited and overwhelmed Hezekiah was. He just received this amazing promise that his death sentence had been reversed. After the excitement wore off, he started thinking “How do I know I’m going to get well? I don’t look any different, I don’t feel any better, nothing has changed”. Doubt started to come, “Is it going to happen? Are you sure that’s what God said”?
Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What sign will the Lord give me to prove that I’m going to get well”? He was saying, “Isaiah, I appreciate what you have told me, that’s encouraging, but I need some evidence. I need to see something so I will believe. I need God to prove that He is going to do it”. Isaiah said, “All right, God will give you a sign. Do you want the shadow to go 10 degrees forward or 10 degrees backwards”? Hezekiah said “Backwards”. They watched as the shadow defied the odds and went backwards.
God can be very merciful even when we don’t deserve it. Sometimes He will give you evidence but here is my point: if you live by this approach, telling God to prove to you that He will do what He said, you won’t reach the fullness of your destiny. Maybe like Hezekiah, you are praying for evidence but you are not seeing anything, and the shadow is not going backwards, my encouragement for you today is, to let your trust in what God can do be your ticket to your miracle.
The right attitude is, “God, I don’t need any evidence that you are doing something on my behalf. You don’t have to prove to me that you are going to do it, you have already proved to me who you are. You have already made ways where I didn’t see a way. You have already opened doors that I could never open. You have already defeated much bigger giants. You have already broken chains that I could never break. God, I trust you with no evidence. I’m not a Hezekiah, you don’t have to prove to me that you are faithful. You have already shown yourself faithful to me in many ways”.
And yes, it’s great when God gives you evidence that He is doing something about it, but don’t rely on that… Don’t say to God “Seeing is believing” or become dependent on seeing before you believe. That doesn’t take much faith. Your faith kicks in when there is no evidence! We are told by God’s word to walk by faith and not by sight. (2Corinthians 5:7)
PROVING GOD’S WORD

Instead of asking God to prove to you what He is going to do, why don’t you turn it around and prove to God your trust in His word! Prove to Him that you are not going to be moved by what you see, prove that you are not going to give up because things aren’t changing, prove that you are going to stand in faith when every circumstance says “It’s never going to happen”.
One interesting thing about Hezekiah’s situation is that right before he got sick, he had just seen the greatest victory of his life through the mighty hand of God. The Assyrian army was coming against him and the people of Judah, they were much bigger and had more resources. The night before the Assyrians were going to attack, the angel of the Lord went into their camp and killed a hundred and eighty-five thousand of their soldiers. The others took to their heels, and the people of Judah and Hezekiah were spared. (2 Kings 19:35)
After this wonderful experience, it’s hard to think that Hezekiah would need some evidence to be sure of what God said by His prophet Isaiah! He just saw a supernatural victory, he prayed for it and God acted accordingly… How many times do we forget what God has done? Like Hezekiah, God has shown up and turned things around for us, He has healed us, protected us, freed us, increased us and promoted us. If you need evidence that God is working, look back at the goodness of God in your life.
Look back at how He brought you through the pandemic, how He gave you strength when you didn’t think you could go on, how He promoted you when you weren’t next in line, look back at how He had turned your child around, how He brought someone great into your life to love, and how that one favour causes your business to take off. When you need evidence, look back at the faithfulness of God.
One thing we must come to terms with is that most of the time, there is going to be no evidence, people will tell us how it’s not going to happen. Don’t be moved by what people say or what you see, whatever God has started with you, He will complete it with you.
You may have an idea of everything God has promised you; good health, freedom, abundance, a good spouse, a child and so much more. You have been looking, standing in faith, thanking God, but there’s no evidence, nothing is improving, and you still can’t lay hold on it. This is when you have to dig deep, “Tell God, I’m not moved by the evidence. I know you are faithful. I’m going to keep looking, keep expecting, keep praising, keep declaring, keep thanking you that it’s on the way”.
One big advantage of a child of God like you is that God can change things suddenly. He controls the universe. One touch of His favour and you will see the abundance of rain. You may not be seeing any evidence of it but suddenly things will turn around. It may just be a test but keep believing despite what you are seeing or hearing.
You may have been faithful, you believed even when every circumstance said it wasn’t going to happen, you didn’t listen to the naysayers, you didn’t get talked out of it, and you have been looking for God’s goodness. You are about to see the open windows of heaven, something better than you have imagined, more rewarding, more fulfilling. God is going to do something remarkable in your life, out of the ordinary, that will exceed your expectations.
Sometimes the people closest to you will try to talk you out of what God put in your heart, they may mean well, but they didn’t hear what God spoke to you. They keep telling you what they saw, you can’t let that drown out what you have heard from God.
Don’t give up now! Yes, it would be much easier if like Hezekiah we always got evidence that God is doing something about our situation but we will never grow, we wouldn’t reach our potential. As children of faith, it’s going to take unshakable faith; not being moved by what we see, and not being discouraged because of a lack of evidence so we can attain unbelievable heights with God.
You must have a made-up mind. Don’t allow yourself to be talked out of it, don’t be moved by what you see because what you see may contradict what God put in your heart. You may not see anything improving, you may not see any evidence of progress rather seeing things remaining as always!
However, if you stay in faith, you are going to come into where things suddenly happen, doors suddenly open, the wrong people are suddenly moved out of the way, and your health begins to suddenly turn around for good. God sees your faithfulness, He sees you believing when there is no evidence. You are closer than you think.
I declare speed concerning your abundance of rain. What you believe in is going to happen suddenly and unexpectedly. Healing, favour, breakthroughs, divine connections, and the fullness of your destiny are coming to pass in Jesus’ name.
May the peace of the Lord rest upon you continually in the mighty name of Jesus (Amen)
