The word change in the bible is often referred to as transformation, renewal or a turnaround. This can be in our spiritual state, character, or circumstances… As believers in Christ, the power to effect the change we want has been given to us. “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
Anyone who wants to effect change or see change must be ready to change! I mean a change in what you believe or a change in the way of doing things that directly impact the change that you seek. Receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour is the foundation of any great change that can happen to anyone. However, the Holy Spirit in you is the power that causes change.
As born-again believers in Christ, you are given power by God to become the children of God and enjoy everything a child of God should enjoy. “But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13
Those who have ever encountered Jesus never remain the same. Their lives were transformed from darkness to light, from lack to abundance, from sickness to health, from condemnation to righteousness, from captivity to freedom, from victim to victory and from death to life. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
The power to cause change rests with God and He has given us the authority to effect change around us and anywhere we find ourselves. As children of God, we have received the power to effect change on anything that does not glorify God or anything that is a mockery of God’s word in our lives or the lives of others.
Jabez was a victim of his name. He was named Sorrow because his mother gave birth to him in sorrow. He refused to accept it by praying to God for a change. The Bible says God granted his request and he became honourable among his brethren. Prayer has the power to cause change and change our circumstances! (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)
Prayer is a weapon to effect any change you want. It is one of the proven weapons that can change our circumstances. Not only does prayer have the power to change our circumstances but it also has the power to change our perspective. When we pray our focus changes from ourselves to God. We begin to look out for God’s wonders all around us.
Have you ever come to a position in your life where you concluded that nothing else can be done because you think it’s all over or in a position where you have to look around for a solution but nothing seems to work? Jesus can make it work! Jesus can turn things around for your good! But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
In the case of the woman with the issue of blood, the Bible says, she spent all she had on physicians but she was not better. A touch on Jesus’s garment put a stop to 12 years of suffering. She needed a change to her predicament and her encounter with Jesus delivered her the change she yearned for.
“Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8:43-48
FAITH AS A WEAPON!

Another weapon to cause change is our faith! Jesus can change anything in our lives that is making a mockery of our belief but we have to respond to Him in faith. It focuses on the desired result even when the circumstances say otherwise. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1.
Faith helps your mind turn God’s word into real pictures. Faith sees the change before it manifests in the physical. If you take a step of faith towards your desired result, God will take responsibility to see that the change is manifested. Anytime faith comes alive, God steps into the situation.
It’s possible to receive supernatural change even if an expert has pronounced your situation to be permanent or medically proven to have no cure. There is nothing without a solution and the solution to all things is in Christ Jesus. Countless people have seen miraculous turnarounds in their situation through the mighty power of Jesus. If it can happen to anyone, it can happen to you.
God has given you the power to effect the change you want. He has not brought you this far to leave you. The greatest victory is not in your past but in your future! The word of God says “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
