We all have things that we are waiting on. It can be easy to get frustrated when we don’t see anything happening! It’s tempting to take matters into our hands and try to force doors to open or manipulate a situation. However, we must understand that “Waiting is not a denial” The scripture says, “And that you should not lose heart, but that you would be imitators of those who by faith and patience have become heirs of The Promise.” (Hebrew 6:12)
It’s good to have faith, but without patience, you can miss God’s best. One of the most important things I have learned in my years of ministry is to trust God’s timing. Sometimes the reason it’s taking longer is because what God has in store is much better than what we have in mind. We think we are falling behind, and everyone is overtaking us and, “I should be better than how I am now”, but waiting is not a denial.
Jesus told His disciples “I’m going away to prepare a place for you”. (John 14:2), God has already prepared blessings for you. There are wonderful things He has already lined up for you: Favour, the right people, and healing. At the appointed time you will come into blessings, and favour, greater than you have ever imagined. The scripture says, “They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles…” Isaiah 40:31
Waiting on the Lord is waiting in faith. “I don’t see anything happening, but God, I believe you are working behind the scenes“. It’s waiting in peace. You could be frustrated over your job, worried about your health or worried about your family, but your attitude is, “God, I trust you. I know you are in control. You already have a solution. I’m going to be still and know that you are God”. It’s waiting for a place of rest. You could be trying to force things, make that door open, manipulate that situation, but you step back and let God fight your battles. You trust Him to open the doors, to bring the right people or calm the situation.
There is a young woman in the scripture named Rachel. She and her sister Leah were married to the same man; Jacob. When Jacob saw Rachel, it was love at first sight. She was very beautiful, but their father tricked Jacob into marrying Leah first, the oldest daughter. Jacob had to work seven more years to marry Rachel. She had already been through this long delay and disappointments, and finally, she got married. She always wanted children, that was her dream, but for some reason, she couldn’t conceive. Year after year went by, she was still barren. Her sister Leah was just the opposite, she had one son after another… (Genesis 29:21-35)
Wherever you are reading this message, I want to encourage you… Don’t get discouraged because you have been waiting for too long concerning a change in your situation, the medical report hasn’t changed or the challenges haven’t turned around for your good, like Rachel, you haven’t conceived yet. Can I tell you? Waiting is not a denial! The scripture says, “God remembered Rachel”. (Genesis 30:22-24). God has not forgotten you. He has seen every unfair situation, every lonely night, every heartache. That is not how your story ends. God has a blessing prepared for you that you are going to walk into. Now, in the meantime, wait for God’s timing.
The scripture says, “Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act. Keep travelling steadily along his path and in due season, He will honour you with every blessing”. (Psalm 37:34). If you keep travelling steadily, everything that has your name on it, is coming to you: the spouse, the baby, the healing, the business, the contract, the peace, the freedom…
When thoughts whisper, “You will never get out of debt, everyone in your family struggles”. No, thanks, I may still be waiting for now but waiting can not deny me of what is mine… “You will never meet the right person”. Yes, it’s that way now but waiting is not a denial. God has reserved a blessing for me. Wait knowing that God is working on what concerns you. He has already caught what you thought you missed. Trust His timing. If it hasn’t happened yet, it wasn’t supposed to happen. God has an appointed time to bring the promise to pass.
If Rachel had given birth to Joseph earlier, Joseph wouldn’t have fulfilled his divine purpose. God is strategic. He does everything for a reason, there is nothing random, or haphazard, He knows what you need, and when you are going to need it. God controls everything. And sometimes He will allow things to wait, allow a door to close, allow a challenge in a relationship to persist that is beyond you or allow someone to walk away. We may not recognize that then, but it’s all serving His plan. You can stay in peace, knowing that He is ordering your steps.
MY TIME IS IN GOD’S HAND

The scripture says it this way, “God, my times are in your hands” (Psalm 31:15). It’s saying, “Don’t be frustrated by the waiting, There are Josephs, there are healing, abundance, peace and ideas, there are books, songs, and ministries that God has already destined for you. When you know that God is in control, that your times are in His hands and that He already has what you need, this takes all the pressure off you.
You don’t have to strive and strain, “Got to make this door open, convince these people to like you, and work hard to earn their approval, I got to manipulate this situation at work to get the upper hand”, that’s going to wear you out. That is being conniving, deceiving and jealous. Life is too short to live that way. Come back to a place of peace. You don’t have to make it happen all in your strength. God has exactly what you need for each season that you are in.
Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you”.(Matthew 6:33), You give God the first place, and He will add everything you need. The scripture says “No good thing will he withhold when you walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). The key is: don’t seek the blessing, seek the ‘blesser.’ Give Him the first place, and the blessings will seek you.
Who knows what God has prepared for you? Who knows what is in store right now? Things you couldn’t achieve or overcome, you never thought it would happen, it’s been too long, like Rachel, seems to be barren in your business, in your relationships, in your health. That barrenness is not the end, your joy is coming, your baby is coming, your healing is coming, your breakthrough is coming. Not something ordinary, not something average, but a Joseph, uncommon, unusual, a prepared blessing that will catapult you into that dreamed destiny and more than you ever imagined.
What am I saying? God can see things that we can’t see. He knows what is coming, what you are going to need, where you need to be, and when you need to be there. Trust His timing. Don’t fight the waiting, listen to the voice within and trust God’s timing. He knows what is best for you, and He has some of these prepared blessings in store. You may have been waiting for a long time, get this into your spirit that something is working for your good behind the scenes…
God already has what you need. It’s just a matter of time before you hear Him calling your name, opening the door, bringing the healing, the right person, the breakthrough. Now, do your part and wait for His plan to unfold. If you do this, I decree and declare that you are about to come into a prepared blessing, favour, unbeatable joy, healing, and promotion that catapult you ahead. Like Rachel, your baby, peace or heart desire is coming in Jesus’s name.
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”’
