Looking at a complex job description or a terrifying medical report can invite an intimidating whisper: “You simply don’t have what it takes to overcome it.” The scripture says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
In those quiet and challenging seasons, it is easy to feel unqualified, emotionally bankrupt, and physically exhausted. When challenges mount from every direction, you begin to believe that you are operating at a disadvantage, stranded on the front lines of life without the necessary support. However, long before you arrived at these challenging crossroads, the Creator of the universe knew exactly what you would face.
Every challenging delay, every giant obstacle, and every dream that keeps you awake at night was already factored into His master plan for your life. God did not send you into this world empty-handed, nervously hoping you would somehow scrape by or figure it out on your own. He deliberately deposited within your spirit everything necessary to fulfil your purpose. He pre-packaged the exact gifts, talents, wisdom, and resilience required for your specific destiny.
Behind the scenes, He has already lined up the right people, the open doors, and the ultimate defeat of your giants. You will never encounter a situation where you are truly left lacking. The external odds may look completely stacked against you, but God has already equipped and empowered you for this precise moment. You must realise that your current struggle is not a sign of God’s absence but rather the training ground for the deployment of His favour.
The scripture says in Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” The New Living Translation states it beautifully: “I have all that I need.” Imagine the immense peace and authority of living daily from that internal posture. It is a mindset that actively refuses to say, “I am not talented enough,” “I lack the financial backing,” or “This problem is too big to overcome.” You must change your mental script, break free from a “not enough” mentality, and step into God’s supernatural abundance.
When David stood before Goliath, he didn’t beg for King Saul’s heavy, conventional armour, nor did he complain about his lack of military credentials. He relied entirely on his identity as a child of the Most High God, operating from a deep conviction that he lacked nothing. That bold confidence is exactly how a young shepherd boy defeated a seasoned warrior giant with nothing but a slingshot and a stone.
It is how he outlasted the intense, toxic jealousy of King Saul and survived the rejection of his own father, who left him forgotten out in the fields. David understood that because the Lord was his Shepherd, he was never truly alone. He possessed a divine protector, an almighty defender, and a sovereign waymaker who had fully stocked his spirit for the assignment.
To live this way, you must learn to override your temporary feelings with eternal knowledge. Stop verbalising your anxiety and start verbalising what God declares over your life. Your tongue holds the power of life and death, and what you speak in your season of testing will determine how you exit it. Instead of saying, “I can’t handle this pressure,” declare, “The Lord is my strength, and I am well able.” Instead of saying, “I am unqualified for this promotion,” announce the truth of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
God has completely packed your bags for your life’s journey. He planned your itinerary and placed the exact faith, wisdom, and fortitude into your spiritual luggage long before you were born. You don’t have to live in constant fear of the future, wondering if you will survive the next wave of uncertainty. There is a specific, supernatural grace tailor-made for your current season.
God never makes a mistake or leaves a crucial item out of your suitcase. He didn’t forget about that person who refused to honour the commitment with you, nor was He surprised by the sudden shift in your career. When you grasp that your heavenly Father packed your bags for your life journey, you move from a deficit mentality to a loaded mindset. Your current situation might be a shock to your system, but it is a thoroughly handled detail in the eyes of God.
Consider the testimony of Victoria, a mother of three who was suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive, late-stage neurological illness. The medical experts delivered a devastating prognosis, suggesting she had less than a year to live and that the treatments would leave her weak and bedridden. Victoria admitted that her initial reaction was overwhelming terror. She looked at her young children and wept, crying out, “God, I don’t have the strength for this. I am empty.”
However, in the quiet depths of her tough season, Victoria felt a profound shift. She remembered that her heavenly Father had already packed her bags for this dark valley. Instead of speaking words of defeat, she began to confess aloud daily in her hospital room, “The Lord is my Shepherd; I have everything I need to endure and conquer this season.”
Miraculously, as she underwent the gruelling medical treatments, the doctors were utterly baffled. Not only did her body respond to the therapy with unprecedented speed, but she also maintained an inexplicable, radiant joy and energy that completely surprised the hospital environment. Today, Victoria is completely healthy and cancer-free. God met her need daily, proving that His grace is always sufficient and His timing is always flawless.
GOD IS ALWAYS PRESENT WITH YOU.
In the Scripture, we find a certain identical pattern of God proving His ever-present presence with His children. In Judges chapter six, the people of Israel were terrorised by the massive Midianite army. Gideon was hiding in a winepress, afraid and intimidated. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared and addressed him with a shocking title in Judges 6:12, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valour!” Gideon looked around in disbelief. “I am not a hero. I am the least in my father’s house, hiding in fear.”
Interestingly, God does not see you as you currently see yourself. He sees the magnificent potential He packed inside you before the foundation of the world. In Judges 6:14, God told Gideon, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. ” Have I not sent you? The lesson here is profound: your assignment may feel bigger than your confidence, but it is never bigger than your calling. When you move in obedience, the feelings of adequacy will eventually catch up with your faith.
Moses experienced the same dynamic when God spoke to him from the burning bush, commanding him to confront Pharaoh. Moses immediately made excuses, stammering, “God, I cannot speak well. I am a stutterer.” God’s response in Exodus 4:11 was a sharp reality check: “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have I not, the Lord?” God was reminding Moses of who packed his bags for the assignment.
The ordinary wooden staff in Moses’ hand became the very instrument that parted the Red Sea and struck water from a dry rock. When God breathes upon your ordinary assets, they instantly become extraordinary tools of victory. Look at the testimony of David, a young man from an impoverished background who felt entirely disqualified from achieving his dream of starting a technology and education platform.
David had no startup capital, no influential connections, and a severe learning disability that made traditional schooling an uphill battle. Every door slammed in his face, and critics told him he was aiming far too high. One evening, completely ready to quit, David read the story of Gideon and realised he was viewing his life through a lens of lack rather than divine provision. He decided to step out in the simple strength he had, utilising a rudimentary, outdated laptop to code his initial software concept.
Miraculously, an investor discovered his basic prototype through a mutual acquaintance and was so deeply impressed by the unique logic of the programme that they funded the entire venture. Today, David’s company employs hundreds of people and provides innovative solutions globally. What seemed like a deficit was simply the perfect backdrop for God’s extraordinary grace to shine. It proved that when your supply comes from heaven, earthly limitations lose their power over your destiny.
Stop living with a lacking mindset and start declaring that you are fully loaded. Like David the shepherd boy, you will see your giant obstacles fall. Like Gideon, the hidden hero inside you is about to be revealed. Your heavenly Father has perfectly packed your bags for what is ahead, mapped your itinerary, and granted you an unstoppable, overflowing grace for this exact season.
Shake off the spirit of fear, silence the voice of insecurity, and step into this day with your head held high. If you do this, I decree and declare that you are well able, you are fully equipped, and you are destined to flourish in Jesus’ name.
